Sales managers and sales directors are the most sought after in the Croatian labor market, while lawyers find it hardest to secure employment, according to the report on the state of the labor market in Croatia for January, conducted by the administration of the web portal Moj Posao.
Alongside sales managers and sales directors, some of the most common deficit occupations in January included architects, civil engineers, and commercial specialists, while the most common surplus occupations were trainee lawyers, graphic designers, and drivers. Physiotherapists, dental technicians, chefs, and waiters had good chances of finding work in January.
The largest job offers in January were in the fields of trade, sales and marketing, economics, as well as mechanical engineering and electrical engineering, construction, architecture, and tourism. According to job advertisements in January, 42 percent required a secondary vocational qualification, 19 percent required a higher education qualification, and in 25 percent of the ads, the level of education was not important.
Employers expected job seekers to have knowledge of foreign languages, primarily active knowledge of English, which was highlighted as a requirement for employment in 42 percent of the ads.
The next most sought-after language was German, which was required in 6 percent of the ads. In 70 percent of the ads in January, employers set knowledge of computer skills as a condition for employment.
