Renault – January Leader in the Croatian Market

In Croatia, 7,274 new cars were sold in January, which is 14.5 percent more than in January of last year and 19.3 percent more than in December, according to an analysis by the agency Promocija Plus, based on data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

    During January of last year, 6,350 new cars were sold, and in December last year, 6,099. The January leader in the Croatian market is Renault, with 1,064 cars sold and a market share of 14.6 percent. Following with a market share of 12.2 percent is Opel, which sold 884 cars. At the same time, Škoda sold 750 units and achieved a share of 10.3 percent, Volkswagen is in fourth place with 662 units and a share of 9.1 percent, and the list of the top five is closed by Peugeot with an 8 percent share or 587 cars. 

Among the models, the Renault Clio has replaced the Opel Astra at the top of the best-selling models after a long period, with Astra now in second place. 613 units of Clio were sold, while 599 units of Astra were sold. The Škoda Octavia is in third place, and the Fabia is in fourth. Octavia was sold in 418 units during January, while Fabia was sold in 309. With 279 units sold, the Renault Megane is fifth.  Of all the new cars sold in January, 58 percent were with gasoline engines, and 42 percent with diesel engines.

The main market for new cars in Croatia is the Zagreb region, where 2,770 cars were sold in January or 34.3 percent. Following are the Primorje-Gorski Kotar and Split-Dalmatia counties with 785 and 751 vehicles sold, respectively, and market shares of 9.7 and 9.3 percent. The least new vehicles were sold in the Lika-Senj, Virovitica-Podravina, and Požega-Slavonia counties.  (H)
