Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polančec told reporters in Split that the shipbuilding restructuring program is in its final phase and announced that by next Tuesday, individual restructuring programs for each shipyard could also be accepted.
After that, negotiations will begin with the European Commission regarding shipbuilding, in which an effort will be made to secure a transitional period during which Croatian shipyards will seek the same level of state aid as in member countries, provided that they operate positively, Polančec said, who participated today in Split at the meeting of the Economic and Social Council of Split-Dalmatia County.
Regarding Brodosplit, Polančec noted that the business results for the first nine months of last year are better than the previous year and there are clear positive shifts, but final conclusions will need to wait for the final balance. In the case of the Split Steelworks, which was purchased under special conditions by the Croatian-Ukrainian Armko Smart Group, Polančec confirmed that the buyer requested a postponement of the finalization of the contract for 5 to 6 days and that this request was accommodated. He added that he believes that the sale of the Steelworks will be resolved positively during that period. (H)
